The Victory College Prep School Network is expanding with the VCP Bethel Avenue Campus for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
Aligned to our mission and vision to serve an increasing number of Indianapolis students, a second campus allows VCP to continue offering the benefits of one K-12 network but with more traditional school experiences for our elementary, middle, and high school students.

OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE OF VCP
Expanding to a three-school two-campus network for 2025-2026 will bring some changes for VCP students and families, but most of your VCP experience will remain the same.

– VCP Grades 9 through 12 (high school) will move to the Bethel Avenue Campus for 2025-2026.

– VCP veteran educator Avience Brown will be the first VCP Middle School Principal, leading Grades 5 through 8 and a dedicated middle school teaching team of current and newly recruited teachers.

– The high school will have more than 30,000 additional square feet of space for students, faculty, and staff to utilize in their new Bethel Avenue Campus. The elementary and middle school programs will each have approximately 15,000 square feet of additional space to use on the Sloan Avenue Campus.

– VCP Kindergarten through Grade 8 (elementary and middle school) will remain in our Sloan Avenue building.

– We will maintain current bus routes and stops (though some new routes and stops may be added due to growing enrollment). Our buses will stop at both campuses for arrival and dismissal so that siblings of all ages can still travel to school together next year. Visit our Transportation web page to view current VCP bus stops.

– The school day will continue to run from approximately 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., and class schedules will follow similar, grade-appropriate formats.

– While we expect the school day to continue to run from approximately 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., we may announce slightly staggered start and dismissal times between the two campuses to facilitate bus travel between Sloan Avenue and Bethel Avenue.

– We are still working with our teaching teams to understand which VCP teachers will serve which grade levels next year, though we anticipate the majority of faculty and staff continuing to serve their current grade levels next year in our new three-school, two-campus network model.

The VCP School Network plans $2.5 million in renovations for the Bethel Avenue Campus school building beginning in the spring of 2025.

Updates to the facility will include: security system and cameras, interior and exterior painting, updating plumbing, new classroom and office carpets, window treatments, furniture, locker installation, and technology for students, faculty, and staff.

HOW FAR APART ARE THE TWO VCP CAMPUSES?
According to Google Maps, the Sloan Avenue Campus and Bethel Avenue Campus are 2.1 miles apart, or a 3-5 minute drive.

WHICH GRADES WILL HAVE SCHOOL AT THE BETHEL AVENUE CAMPUS?
VCP Grades 9 through 12 (high school) will move to the Bethel Avenue Campus for 2025-2026.

WHICH GRADES WILL HAVE SCHOOL AT THE SLOAN AVENUE CAMPUS?
VCP Kindergarten through Grade 8 (elementary and middle school) will remain in our Sloan Avenue building for 2025-2026.

HOW WILL THE CHANGE TO TWO CAMPUSES IMPACT MY STUDENT’S BUS ROUTE?
We will maintain current bus routes and stops (with minimal changes) in 2025-2026. You can view those stops now on the Transportation page of this website. With growing enrollment, there is a high likelihood that new bus routes and satellite stops will be added for next year, providing more options to VCP families.

CAN MY YOUNGER STUDENT STILL RIDE THE BUS WITH THEIR OLDER SIBLINGS WHEN THERE ARE TWO VCP CAMPUSES?
VCP buses will stop at both campuses for arrival and dismissal so that siblings of all ages can still travel to school together in 2025-2026.

While a final plan is still being decided, we can offer this example: all buses first stop at the Sloan Avenue Campus, dropping off all K-8 students, then continue to the Bethel Avenue Campus to drop off high school students.

HOW WILL THE SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE BE IMPACTED BY HAVING TWO CAMPUSES SERVED BY THE SAME BUS ROUTES?
The school day in 2025-2026 will continue to run from approximately 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., and class schedules will follow similar, grade-appropriate formats.

However, a final plan is still being decided about how a minimal staggered start between campuses may be used to improve transportation efficiency. We can offer this example: Buses drop students at Sloan Avenue at 7:45 a.m., with first period starting at 8:00 a.m. for elementary and middle school; buses continue to Bethel Avenue to drop students at 7:55 a.m., with first period starting at 8:10 a.m.

CAN VCP STILL GUARANTEE MY CURRENT STUDENT A SEAT FOR NEXT YEAR IF A LARGE NUMBER OF FORMER BETHEL PARK STUDENTS ENROLL AT VCP FOR 2025-2026?
Our purposeful expansion plan guarantees that all current VCP students will have a seat for next school year, but they must complete our required Returning Student Registration form, as they do each academic year.

Plus, we will also have a seat available for any former Bethel Park Elementary School students who want to remain in a neighborhood school and be a part of a single network until they graduate from high school.

IF MY BETHEL PARK ELEMENTARY STUDENT ENROLLS AT VCP, WILL I NEED TO PROVIDE MY OWN TRANSPORTATION?
VCP plans to provide direct bus service between our campuses each day, so that families could drop off and pick up their elementary or middle school students at the Bethel Avenue campus each school day.

Additionally, VCP operates 17 unique bus routes throughout Southeast, offering more than 150 stops. Visit our Transportation web page to view current VCP bus stops, the majority of which will remain for the 2025-2026 school year.

WILL MY STUDENT STILL BE ABLE TO LEARN FROM THE VCP TEACHERS I HAVE COME TO KNOW AND TRUST NEXT SCHOOL YEAR?
We anticipate the majority of faculty and staff continuing to serve their current grade levels next year in our new three-school, two-campus network model. We will work with our teaching teams until May to understand which VCP teachers will serve specific grade levels next year with the goal to finalize the staffing of each school by June.

FOR THE FAMILIES THAT DRIVE WITH KIDS IN BOTH BUILDINGS, HOW WILL THE TIME WORK WITH DROP OFF AND PICK UP?
Response on 3/15/25
We are still finalizing plans for dismissal and arrival processes at both campuses. We are reviewing a few different solutions to create a smooth transition for families that may plan to drop students to both locations as car riders. These solutions include:

  • A staggered arrival and dismissal time for the high school at the Bethel Avenue Campus that would give families up to 15 minutes to travel from drop off/pickup at Sloan to drop off/pickup at Bethel;

A dedicated bus service between our campuses that may support families dropping car riders from all grade levels at one campus with a “shuttle-style” service delivering students to the second campus after they leave the car rider line.

WE LIVE IN THE (SLOAN CAMPUS) NEIGHBORHOOD AND HAVE SAFETY CONCERNS NEAR THE BETHEL CAMPUS. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR HOPEFULLY ENHANCED SECURITY?
Response on 3/15/25
The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our priority, and we are committed to the new VCP Bethel Avenue Campus feeling and being as safe as the Sloan Avenue Campus.

At this time, we are committed to implementing the many measures that have helped keep Sloan safe and reviewing new solutions that may be needed at Bethel. These measures and solutions would include:

  • An alarm system that covers all school building entrances;
  • A robust security camera system that surveys the full campus: all corners inside the school building and covers the surrounding grounds with a 360 degree view;
  • Auto-locking exterior doors that are key fob protected, including dual doors that create an isolated vestibule at the building’s main entrance to prohibit pass-through unless locks are released by staff inside the building;
  • A large staff presence around the exterior of the building during student arrival and dismissal times much like the way staff supports at Sloan;

A thorough and clear Facility Safety Plan for responding to emergency security situations such as inclement weather or a neighborhood disturbance involving police presence. Plans will be practiced by faculty, staff, and students throughout the year to ensure the campus is ready in the unlikely event of a real weather emergency or safety threat.

WHY WOULD YOU NOT PUT THE ELEMENTARY OR MIDDLE SCHOOL AT BETHEL AVENUE SINCE IT WAS BUILT FOR YOUNGER STUDENTS AND IS AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CURRENTLY?
Response on 3/20/25

In deciding to transition our high school to the new VCP Bethel Avenue Campus from the Sloan Avenue Campus, we considered a range of issues, including:
  • the available square footage of each school building;
  • our projected enrollments for each of our schools – VCP elementary, middle, and high school;
  • the benefits of creating the most developmentally appropriate learning spaces for students;
  • how we could create more traditional school experiences for students, particularly those in high school.
After considering these factors, moving the high school is the best way to utilize our available space across campuses given our enrollments in each school. Further, a separate campus for high school allows us to create more developmentally appropriate and traditional experiences for all VCP students.

To ready the Bethel Avenue Campus for high school students, we are planning a series of facilities upgrades over the summer through the start of the 2026 calendar year. These improvements include: new security systems; bathroom renovations; new classroom furniture; new paint and flooring; and new cafeteria furnishings and equipment.
FOR BETHEL PARK ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
We have a seat available for every Bethel Park Elementary student to enroll at VCP for the 2025-2026 school year

Our purposeful expansion plan means we can serve every currently enrolled VCP student and welcome BPE families to our network, so more Southeast students can thrive in college or a career.

BPE families who want to join VCP can stay through their student’s high school graduation day!
