The VCP Student and Family Handbook is an important resource for the community that outlines policies, procedures, and guidelines for academics, behavior and discipline, general operations, athletics and extracurricular programs, and more.

All VCP families are required to acknowledge their receipt and review of the handbook when attending Back to School Nights. As such, families are strongly encouraged to review the contents of the handbook before their designated Back to School Night visit.

VCP will take specific steps to announce weather closures so that families can stay adequately informed when conditions impact our school operations.

A) We will only communicate a formal status update when school leadership makes a final decision. Please refrain from calling the main office or reaching individual teachers directly because they will not have any information to share about weather impacts on school until such a time that we communicate a formal status update.

B) We will communicate a formal status update using four methods:

  1. Via phone and email alert
  2. The VCP school app
  3. Local television news stations
  4. On our digital platforms, including Facebook and the VCP website

When school leadership makes a final decision about a school delay or closure, VCP administration will first call and email families a formal status update. We will also deliver a notification through the VCP school app (but please be aware that you may need to open the app to view the message rather than relying on a push notification). For those families without access to a mobile phone or home computer, we will also share our status with local television news stations WTHR-13, Fox 59, WISH-TV, and WRTV-6. Please tune into your preferred station to view their weather announcements or tickers.

C) We will deliver our communications with as much advance notice as possiblebut no later than 6:30 a.m. the same day that a weather closure may occur.

PLEASE NOTE THESE IMPORTANT TIMES AND DEADLINES FOR EACH SCHOOL DAY.

Bus Service Delays and Emergency Contacts
VCP announces transportation delays via the VCP School app, which is available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Direct links to the app in each store are available here on the Family Resource Hub. For those without smartphone access, our transportation vendor, Miller Transportation, offers a bus tracker that can be accessed on the Transportation Services webpage

Car Riders + Walkers
Student car riders and walkers enter the building through the school’s Main Entrance. Faculty and staff are present in the school parking to direct traffic during arrival and departure times.

High school students driving their own vehicles have access to the school parking lot on a first come first served basis, and ample street parking is available around the school campus.

VCP has a mandatory dress code for all students.  The dress code puts the focus on academics, not fashion, and creates a sense of school pride and belonging which are important components of our school culture. We ask that families work with school staff to support and enforce the dress code.

School-issued uniform shirts with the logo must be worn at all times. These shirts may be short or long sleeved. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.

Tops can be purchased from the online VCP Uniform Store, including:

  • Victory College Prep polo shirt, t-shirt, and sweatshirt.

Bottoms:

  • Khaki pants or shorts worn at the waist.

Shoes:

  • Students are permitted to wear most types of shoes, however the following things are not allowed:

At Victory College Prep, we don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach.  Our program offers specially tailored small-group, whole-group, and 1:1 instructional time that ensures we meet the unique needs of our scholars.  High Ability Program participants also frequently engage in unique clubs, STEM courses, and peer mentoring opportunities.  For more information, check out our Academic Programs!
