VCP COMMITMENTS TO FAMILIES
VCP is lawfully required to educate all enrolled children regardless of citizenship or immigration status
(Supreme Court Ruling, Plyler v. Doe, 1982).
No agent of any government agency can enter our facilities without proper legal documentation to remove a student or
view personal student or family information.
Our employees who most often staff our front office will have enhanced training for managing interactions that involve
immigration matters and related documentation requests.
We are actively engaged with legal counsel to ensure that our efforts to create a safe and welcoming campus align
with the law as directives for enforcement change over time.

REGARDING DISTANCE (OR VIRTUAL) LEARNING: VCP academic leaders believe, and research shows, that students learn more effectively and achieve stronger proficiency when present at school. We commit to creating a safe space for student learning on our campus rather than approving distance (or virtual) learning days.
