During Hispanic Heritage Month at VCP, homeroom and advisory classes share and study Hispanic culture.Â
With the VCP theme of Literacy, every week students review:Â
– influential Hispanic authors and books
– Spanish-speaking countries and their cultures
– Spanish language words and phrases
– cultural music, dance, and foodÂ
A school network Community Celebration is scheduled during the school day on Wednesday, October 2. Students from the VCP 7-12 School will lead activities about Hispanic culture with younger students in VCP K-6 School classrooms.
A Literacy Night family event will be hosted in the VCP Cafeteria on Thursday, Oct. 3, starting at 5:00 p.m. with activities, a food truck, and more! The Literacy Night is supported by VCP partner Southeast Community Services and its Libros Para Indy program.
