culminating with their Commencement Ceremony on May 25 beginning at 4:30 p.m..

MAY EVENTS – CLICK TO VIEW COMPLETE DETAILS
The formal Prom dance is scheduled from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. for May 6 at the Community Life Center. Eligible seniors and juniors are able to purchase tickets and younger high school students who are eligible may be allowed by invitation only.
Tickets are available at $25 for a single and $35 for couples.

One of the most exciting days on the VCP annual calendar, Senior Signing Day is the event when the Class of 2023 announces its college or career plans!
The event will be held on May 19th at 12:00 p.m. on the Victory College Prep campus inside the Main (Big) Gymnasium.
There is no dress code for friends and family in attendance, but all participating seniors should dress professionally.
Tickets will be required for family members in attendance and are capped at 8 toal tickets per family. Tickets are free and can be claimed online only at the link below.

Families are encouraged to arrive on time due to limited school parking. There is ample street parking around the VCP campus to accommodate all guests. Please be respectful to our neighbors and their lawns when using street parking.

The day before their Commencement Ceremony, VCP seniors come together for a class breakfast. They then travel to the graduation event site at the University of Indianapolis for a ceremony rehearsal.
These events are open to graduating seniors only and attendance is required. Families are asked to help ensure students are at school for this important rehearsal event.
Transportation to the Commencement Ceremony venue is provided by VCP, and seniors will dismiss from school on the regular school day schedule.
The Victory College Prep community will celebrate the Commencement Ceremony of the Class of 2023 on Thursday, May 25, at 4:30 p.m. in the Ruth Lilly Performance Hall of the Christel De Haan Fine Arts Center on the campus of the University of Indianapolis.
TICKET INFORMATION + STUDENT REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE
Tickets are required to attend the Commencement Ceremony and are available to families in set quantities. Limited additional tickets are also available for cash-only purchase.
- 5 free tickets are issued to each graduate for family and friends, and some eligible students may receive additional free tickets;
- Graduates may purchase additional tickets for $10 each but may not exceed a total of 9 tickets total (both free and purchased);
- For-sale tickets may be purchased between May 12 and May 24;
- Tickets will NOT be available for purchase at the door the day of the event.
To participate in the Commencement Ceremony, seniors must:
- attend school and graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, May 24th
- meet Indiana State Requirements for a Core 40+ high school diploma
- participate in Senior Signing Day on May 19
DAY OF EVENT SCHEDULE + PLANNING INFORMATION
2:00 p.m. Graduates arrive at venue
3:45 p.m. Venue doors open, ticketed guest entry begins
4:30 p.m. Commencement Ceremony begins promptly
Parking for the event is onsite at the University of Indianapolis campus. Event attendees are encouraged to use the parking lot located at the corner of Shelby Street and Hannah Avenue (large yellow oval). After parking, the Christel De Haan Fine Arts Center (C) is best accessed on foot via a circle drive in front of the venue.
MORE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many guests are allowed per student?
A graduate is allowed a maximum of 9 guests, all of whom must present a ticket to attend.
Who needs a ticket?
Anyone who wants to attend needs a ticket, including but not limited to VCP student siblings and parents/guardians of graduates. And tickets are only available in advance and not at the venue.
Is there assigned seating in the venue?
No. Seats are first come, first served. Families and guests may choose their seats on the venue main floor or two balconies. Seniors will be seated on stage and in view of all audience seats.
What if we have more people that want to come than we have tickets for?
VCP will share information on how to access an event livestream when that information is available.
Can we bring balloons and flowers?
Flowers can be brought into the venue, but balloons must stay in your car through the ceremony. Noise makers and other similar devices are also prohibited.
What is the dress code?
Graduates should be dressed professionally under their cap, gown, and any cords/medals they have been awarded. Students are prohibited from wearing sweatpants, jeans, leggings, or Crocs shoes.
Can seniors decorate their graduate caps?
Yes. However, all cap decorates must be approved by high school leadership no later than May 25. All unapproved decorations will be removed from caps prior to the Commencement Ceremony.
Is the diploma students receive an official document?
The diploma received at the graduation ceremony is symbolic of students’ completing all necessary requirements for graduation. Formal, official transcripts utilized for college admissions and similar situations are available to students beginning in June.

ABOUT OUR COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Belinda Drake is a visionary leader, changemaker, and public speaker with two decades of experience in community building and related services with organizations that include the United Way of Central Indiana and Indiana Youth Group.
Belinda is currently the Vice President of Programming at the Edna Martin Christian Center, which invests in the lives of all in the Martindale-Brightwood and surrounding neighborhoods through community-driven opportunities that foster stability, growth, and a vision of hope. She is also a board member serving the City of Indianapolis Department of Business and Neighborhood Services; the Christian Theologial Seminary; and the Black and African Women’s Council.
Originally from Gary, Indiana, Belinda earned her B.A. from IUPUI, and she’s called Indianapolis home for more than 20 years. She is committed professionally and personally to helping support youth from historically marginalized communities.
