Annually in November, the VCP community comes together for a friendly contest
to benefit some of our own just in time to mark the Thanksgiving holiday.

The VCP Canned Food Drive Competition collects non-perishable food items and cash donations
to support VCP families who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at home.

NON-PERISHABLE FOOD DONATIONS
Food donations can be delivered to homeroom or advisory classrooms or the VCP front office and should be associated with a specific student for the purposes of tracking the competition’s winning classes.
Accepted donations include: canned vegetables and fruits; dry goods, like rice and beans; boxed mashed potatoes; snacks or other packaged items not requiring refrigeration.
After cataloging received donations in their classroom, faculty and staff may bring all donated items to the VCP media center as frequently as necessary.
The homerooms in Lower Academy and advisory classes in middle and high school that collect the most food items will earn in-class celebrations on November 23: first place, a catered lunch; second place, snacks and drinks; third place, candy prizes!
CASH DONATIONS
Cash donations are used for the purchase of turkeys and other cold-storage items to supplement non-perishables.
The quickest way to complete your cash donation is online through our secure portal.

Cash donations can also be delivered to the VCP front office or to homeroom and advisory classrooms.
