GRADE 4 | AUGUST 17-20

Due to mandated quarantines of VCP faculty members and students and in an abundance of caution under CDC and Marion County Department of Public Health guidelines, all VCP Grade 4 students will remain home for virtual learning on August 17 through August 20, 2021. 
All students return to in-person learning on August 23, 2021.

Students who were present for class on Monday, August 16, have been sent home with a VCP Chromebook for their use at home during this virtual learning period. 

Families of students who were absent on August 16 or who otherwise need to obtain a device for virtual learning may pick up a device at the VCP front office on Tuesday, August 17, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

All students who receive a loaned VCP Chromebook must turn in their devices on Monday, August 23, when they return to campus for in-person learning.

MANAGING ASSIGNMENTS
Students will use Google Classroom for academic communication and assignments. 

Login information was provided to students on Monday, August 16, if the student was present at school. If needed, login information can be obtained by contacting Mr. Sherman, Mrs. Wills, or Mrs. Johnson.

SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES
For Students
1. View/participate in video lessons daily.

2. Complete all assignments by Friday at 12:00 p.m.

For VCP Faculty and Staff
1. Post all materials to Google Classroom.

2. Reply to all student/parent questions within 24 hours.
3. Reach out to students daily who did not log on.

For Parents and Guardians
1. Keep contact information up-to-date with the school.

2. Expect regular communication.
3. Know how to access all eLearning materials online.
4. Reach out to teachers with questions.

Attendance will be taken daily during all live Zoom sessions.

Counselors will reach out to students and families who have not accessed virtual learning after 2 days.

ESL program students will have access to Ms. Carreto and Ms. Flores to translate, answer questions, and offer additional instruction.

Speech program students will be contacted by Ms. Kontor.

All virtual learning assignments must be completed and submitted by Friday, August 20, at 12:00 p.m.

Grading practices will be the same for virtual students as if they were in-person learning.
